You don't need an account. We don't ask for your name or phone number. We use your location to work out who is near you — nobody, including us, is shown your exact position, only roughly how far away you are. Messages are not kept forever. We don't sell anything about you to anyone.
TenMeters is operated from Hyderabad, India. It is a small, self-funded project rather than a company with a data department — which means if something here worries you, a person reads your message, not a ticketing system.

Running this on our own would not be possible, so a few things are handled by others:
TenMeters is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has been using it, please write to us and we will remove what we hold.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Because most people use TenMeters anonymously, we often hold nothing that can be traced to you at all. If you have signed in with Google, write from that email address and we can find your records.
Data is sent over an encrypted connection and stored with a reputable provider. But this is a small independent project, not a bank. Please do not share anything through TenMeters that would seriously harm you if it were seen by someone else.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
